Lindale’s chapter of The Knights of Columbus, the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization, awarded senior Nikki O’Connor with one of two scholarships Monday.
“I was very surprised and excited when I realized I received a $500 scholarship,” O’Connor said. “It was such an honor to be chosen by the Knights of Columbus.”
O’Connor was chosen for the award based an her outstanding essay and application which discussed being a productive member of local communities.
O’Connor was awarded the scholarship by KOC members, Jim Baumgartner and Guy Guerin, who emphasized that it was her outstanding essay which pushed her to the top.
