Lady Eagles Volleyball Bi-District Champs

The Lindale Lady Eagles defeated Paris North Lamar in the first round of playoffs Thursday night at Mount Vernon to claim the title of Bi-District Champs. The win improves their overall record to 27-0 on the year. Libero Marleigh Thurman was strong defensively with 21 digs. She also added an ace. Setter Kalaya Pierce ran the court well for the Lady Eagles with 29 kills. Kalaya also recorded 3 kills, 3 digs, a block and an ace. Shelbi Steen led the attack for the Lady Eagles with 16 kills; she also had 19 digs, 1 block, and an assist. Skylar Wyllie put down 6 kills, 3 digs, 2 blocks , and 2 aces. Liz Hutchens added 4 kills and 2 digs, and Brenley Philen had 4 kills, 2 blocks, and a dig. Alondra Romero rounded out the attack with 3 kills, and defensively had 7 digs and a block. Preslie Walters stepped up defensively with 7 digs and also recorded an ace. Lindale will face Community High School Monday night at 7:00 pm in Sulphur Springs.
