Varsity Volleyball Wins Against Melissa, Blue Ridge

Lady Eagles Varsity Volleyball bettered their season win stake to 10-0 Friday night beating Melissa in five sets and Blue Ridge in four. Against Melissa, Setter Kalaya Pierce had a record high 50 assists, 8 digs and 2 blocks. Shelbi Steen recorded 24 kills, 4 assists, and 4 digs. Middle Skylar Wyllie controlled the net with 14 kills, 9 blocks, and 4 digs. Brenley Philen had 7 kills, 2 blocks and Liz Hutchens added 7 kills and 3 blocks. Marleigh Thurman and Alondra Romero each had 7 digs and Chelynn Palmer recorded 6 digs.

In their second match of the night the Lady Eagles defeated Blue Ridge. Shelbi Steen led again in the kills column with 22. Brenley Philen had 9 kills, 3 blocks, and Skylar Wyllie added 7 kills and 4 blocks. Libero Marleigh Thurman led with 11 digs and Alondra Romero had 9. Setter Kalaya Pierce once again showed up big with 35 assists.

Junior Varsity lost to Melissa with set scores of 10-25, and 19-25, and to Blue Ridge 25-11, 24-26, and 22-25.
Brooke Tweedell performed well on front and back row for the Lady Eagles. Camden Chilek came in and performed well defensively in the match.

Fesh A Team lost with set scores of 18-25 and 24-26. Megan McGee was solid defensively with 6 digs. Dylan Adams had 3 assists and 2 kills. Olivia Gary also recorded 4 digs and 3 aces. Tatum Woodard put up 3 kills, 4 aces, and 4 assists.

Fresh B Team lost in three sets: 15-25, 25-23, and 11-15. Joey Forsyth had 4 kills and 2 aces. Whitney Tao recorded 3 kills, and Avery Adams had 3 kills, 2 aces. Lydia Payne put up 4 assists and 2 aces.
