Volleyball Wins Final Non-District Game

The Lindale Lady Eagles took care of business Tuesday night on their home court against Rusk. The freshmen won in two sets and were led by Brooke Tweedell who racked up 15 kills. Bailey Wood had six kills and Mary Ann Hicks posted five kills. Setter Eva Yates had 10 assists and two aces, and Hannah Morrow had nine assists. Gwen May led the defense and served five aces in the win.  Junior varsity also won in two sets with Darby Woodrum setting the tone with eight service points and seven kills. Ellie Watkins led the team with eight kills on the night. The Varsity Lady Eagles finished off the sweep with a three set win. Junior Shelbi Steen and sophomore Brenley Philen led the team in kills. Junior Kalaya Pierce ran the court well and led the team in assists. The Lady Eagles improve their record to 18-11. They will open district play September 27 at home at 5 pm against Mt. Pleasant.
